SRAM Gold PowerLink compatible with Shimano HG 73 9-spd chain?

I was told this would just work. However, the sternly worded
compatibility statement with the SRAM Power Link has given me pause.
Both parts are 9-speed.

Anyone have any personal experience with this or a similar config?

Yes - it works fine.

interestingly, i had a kmc 9spd powerlink connecting together a 10spd
shimano chain on a trek cross bike out of the box, it was a 10spd drive
train and it works great, i know its off topic but i couldn't believe
it!

Thanks to all who replied. I was in a bind because I needed a longer
chain than SRAM supplies for a particular bike. I use the SRAM chains
on my other bikes and if I could have gotten one long enough I have
used it. Turns out the Shimano chain is long enough, and with the SRAM
Power Link, I will be able to split it easily.

Thanks again,
Mike
