SRAM grip shift 3.0

Hi all, I'm new here. I'm from Van Etten, New York and I'm feeling really stupid ! I was in the bike business in one way or another for 25 years but I got out around when mountain bikes were just appearing. Can someone tell me how to put a new cable in an SRAM grip shift 3.0 ? I can't get the new cable to thread back through and I can't figure out how to take the shifter apart. Any help appreciated. John
