 I just got a new SRAM pc48 chain and noticed the rollers to be pitted or somehow not smooth on about 1/2 of each roller. Many other SRAM chains at different shops are this same way, even online photos of SRAM chains, upon close examination, show it! What about this? I, personally, would rather have a chain, just as good as the SRAM, but with smooth rollers - sure couldn't hurt. Anyone else notice this? I think it could cause friction and some wear. FRICTION - now come on, SRAM: bikers don't like friction.

I contacted Sram and they said the pitted rollers will have no bad effect.:p I've used the chain all summer and like the ease with which I can remove it, no tools necessary! Being a mechanical perfectionist, I would like to see a smooth finish on the rollers ;) but I will still use Sram chains. They are the right price and function.
