I apologize to folks for posting the following quasi-spam...
But I spent the last three days hunting for replacement SRAM SRT-300 grip shifters (why? Because the
rubber on my old shifters' grips totally disintegrated, and was making my rides miserable...finally
shredded completely two days ago).

He's in Germany, and seems to auction off all kinds of bike-related stuff, notably a lot of SRAM
shifters, for cheap (like $10/pair!). When asked, he said he was willing to ship to America, for
only 4.5 more Euros (about $5 add'l).
Also, if you don't speak German, it's easy to translate through altavista.com's translation section.
I like my SRT-300's just fine (circa 1994), and from what another poster posted, it sounds as though
the MRX's might not all be up to snuff. But they are the recommended "affordable" alternative.
