Ride Date: June 21, 2003 Entertainment Starts: 10:00 p.m. Ride Starts: midnight

The Starlight Spectacular is a nighttime, recreational bicycle ride through Colorado Springs.
Choose an eleven or twenty-six mile route starting and ending at the Garden of the Gods Visitor
Center. The route includes an optional Rockrimmon loop to the North as well as passing through
downtown Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, and Garden of the Gods. To top off the ride, a
pancake breakfast will be served at the Visitor Center. The Starlight Spectacular is the evening
event and kickoff of the "Colorado Springs Bike Week." This year we are planning for well over
600 riders.

The date for the 2003 ride is Saturday, June 21. The entertainment starts at 10:00 p.m. and
riders leave at Midnight. Upon arriving back at the Visitor Center about 2:00 a.m, breakfast is
served on the patio. Included are pre-ride entertainment, gift drawings at the Visitor Center,
and a downtown rest stop at the Antlers Plaza, refreshments, and bike repair along the route.
Participants include riders of all ages, many families, companies and organizations and even a
few child trailers.

Entry fees are $30.00 in advance ($65.00 family). This includes a short-sleeved T-shirt,
entertainment, prize drawings, refreshments at the rest stops, and breakfast. Companies and
organizations are encouraged to participate as a group and receive a discount. You can register
by calling the Trails and Open Space Coalition, 719-633-6884, on the web at www.active.com Pick
up a registration form by visiting our website at www.starlightspectacular.org, or at a
Colorado Springs bike shop.

The Starlight Spectacular is a fund raising event for the Trails and Open Space Coalition. An
all-volunteer committee administers the ride. This means that all proceeds not devoted to rider
related accommodations go to the Trails and Open Space Coalition. Our goal is to have all entry
fees benefit local trail and open space advocacy.
