I have decided to get back into cycling.
I used to be a recreational cyclist but then just decided to leave it. Now, 10 months later, I have decided to commence with my cycling for fun and fitness.
I would like to know how to go about achieving two of my goals. I want to do a 115km race in Decmber 2006 and 118km race in March 2007. I know I need to get some base miles in.I think about 8-12 weeks should be efficient as I am lazy and over weight.So from now until end of Feb next year, I would do the base training.From March next year, I would like to start training and preparing for the first race in December. Would this be to soon?
Another element to consider is winter here by me in the Southern Hemisphere during the months of June-August. I WILL be cycling 5 times a week during summer and and autumn but not sure about winter.
Any help and tips will be appreciated.
