Can anyone suggest a favoured product for treating the insides of steel tubing to resist rust? As I live on Scotland it's either raining, or just about to rain and I'd like to have some protection in the frameset if the steeler gets caught out.

If you can't find Weigle's Frame Saver, I think one other method is to coat the inside of the tubes with some light motor oil ...

With the BB/etc. out of the (dry) frame ... "pour" some of "whatever-you-choose" in all the tubes [one "section" at a time] ... move the frame so that the oil coats interior surfaces ... allow to drain into appropriate pan(s) ...

Use the weep holes near dropouts for "access" to the seat stays ...

Remember to coat the headtube & steerer.

WIPE THE EXCESS off the outside of the frame! Reassemble.

WASH & WAX the frame's painted surfaces.
