I've had a strange week and it got even stranger last night. The SO came
home late and informed he he had bought a new stove. I was [censored] he did
this without consulting me but then I realized it was a surprise. I have no
idea what kind it is (again, it's a surprise) but I do know we only have a
stovetop and a wall oven. This new stove will replace the stovetop and some
construction has to be done to accomplish the installation. I am now kind
of excited because I'll have ovens. The entire kitchen needs an overhaul
and his theory is to get the appliances we want and build around them
<shrug>. We're almost finished with building the storage room in the
basement and the painting is almost done. Guess we'll start on the kitchen
next.
Ob Food:
My last bottom round roast was horrible. I threw it in the oven like I
would any other pot roast. It was the worst roast I ever made. Soooo...
Due to the last thread on slow cookers, I broke down and decided to put
the 2nd bottom round in it today. Nothing fancy. I just took a few ideas I
found on rfc. Onions, potatoes and carrots in the bottom of the cooker. I
put slivers of garlic in the roast and rubbed in some ground pepper and
kosher salt. Threw the roast on top of the veggies and poured in a couple
of cans of beef broth along with a couple of bay leaves. It's on low and
I'll cook it all day. Wish me luck.
