  1. Hi,

I was wondering is someone knows what could be going on. I suffer from anxiety and Irritable bowel
syndrome. But during night times something very strange happens, when the ibs is acting up badly. I
experience involuntary erections and are very uncomfortable. These only ever happen at night time
but always coincide with whats happening with my physical health. does anyone know what could be
going on. I'm totally sure theres a relation to the two problems, and could be hormones, muscles or
something. Its a way of my body reacting to the stress of ibs, and I dont know what it is. I also
experience terrible anxiety and was wondering if there could be a relation with that too.

    Thanks for your time.

  2. Could definately be a sympathomimetic response from anxiety. Your sympathetic nervous system, when
over-excited, can cause your ibs to get worse, and can also lead to erections.
