I'm hoping you guys can bring me some good news, but it doesn't look good. I've got a Trek 1200 and (finally) put on the clipless pedals today. Apparently I threaded the left side when I was putting it on (don't ask me how), obviously the non-chainring side and it is COMPLETELY stripped. So, do I need to buy an entirely new crankset or can I simply get a left side replacement? I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow morning and from the looks of things it's going to cost an arm and a leg.

Anybody offer an good news?

The non chain side pedal is a Left Hand Thread!!

What brand is the crankset??

Most brands sell the arms on their own.

It's a Bontrager Select crankset. Is it pretty likely that a mostly Trek bike shop would carry those?

Thanks for the help.

That should be available from the dealer as a special order item. Unless it is very large volume shop, it would not likely be stocked. Good luck.
