I just got the exact same thing yesterday, however, since I also purchased the tubeless upgrade, I assumed that the rim change had to do with that...maybe not..I'll have to inquire more...

As an update, my questions began with the rims. They ended with the color scheme.

I am sure I will be the brunt of jokes here (for being an uneducated shopper), but I was sold the female model of the SJ. I did question the color scheme, and the size difference was huge from the large (seemed way too big for me) to the medium (seemed small, but more comfortable than the large). The reason being it was a women's medium, not a men's... the geometry differences are huge!

The LBS was either:
a) ignorant, or
b) looking to make a sale

They could not find any manuals for me for this newly assembled bike, so I am wondering if the manual said "women's" on it? Regardless, I am making the trip back today. Irritating and embarassing!

The men's medium is on order. I won't know until tomorrow, but I will hopefully be looking at three to four days. I was offered an apology, and an Epic (loaner bike) to use for the week if I wanted. The salesperson "obviously did not realize." The first comment when I mentioned the error was to point to the seat and claim that the seat was the only difference. I promptly (and angrily) pointed out that the geometries are completely different from the women's medium to the men's. The LBS is in need of some salesperson education I think. A little familiarity with the inventory would be nice. At least the ability to realize that the customer is always right. I will update later in the week as to the resolution.
