runs to the right of kern knotts & raven crag,i know it was a long time ago

Yes, I believe it was pitched a few years ago but I'm not 100% certain. I'm
sure someone else can confirm for you.

It's not that freshly laid but it's eminintly passable. the path up from
Wasdale is OK as well but I've not walked it from Seathwaite so cannot
    comment on that side.

If you are up there Sunday look out for me. I'll be the one wearing a
    poppy...:-)

No, it's not been repaired, which would involve returning it to a non-
eroded state, it's been built (complete with nice little edging
stones), so avoid in icy weather unless you want a twisted ankle.

To be honest, IIRC that's one of the bits that did need doing, so I
shouldn't be quite so negative about that particular bit. At least
those hideous stones only look awful from close up, and make paths
look a lot better from a distance, unlike certain disasters (half of
Helvellyn, the main path up Skiddaw, etc.)

there's currently a footpath diversion sign posted at the
stretcherbox. It gave the impression they are about to build a
new engineered path alongside the existing one.
