Does anyone have a candy recipe for sugar plums ? Thanks for letting me
drop in .. LynnSugar Plums are more of a confection than a candy, at least the ones I've
seen. Here is but one recipe of many. Chopped/ground figs can also be
used for part of the dried fruit.Sugar Plums
2 cups whole almonds 1/4 cup honey
2 teaspoons grated orange zest 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1 cup finely chopped dried apricots 1 cup finely chopped pitted dates
1 cup confectioners sugarPreheat oven to 400 degrees. Toast almonds in oven, 10 minutes; cool,
finely chop. Combine honey, orange zest, cinnamon, allspice & nutmeg in a
bowl. Add almonds, apricots & dates; mix well. Pinch off rounded teaspoon-
size pieces of mixture & roll into balls. Roll balls in sugar; refrigerate
on waxed paper in airtight containers for up to 1 month.--
