Sun EZ3 vs Americruiser / Tricruiser

This post is coming in very late since the original thread was way back in
Feb. but I think I have something to contribute.

At this point I own both a Sun EZ-3 AL and a Tricruiser.

The Tricruiser is the one that I'm keeping (for those of you who might be
interested the Sun is for sale).

The version of the Tricruiser that I have has what the builder refers to as
"Two Stick Steering". For most recumbent trikes this is what you would
expect. There have been earlier criticisms about the single stick steering
and I can't comment on those since it is not what I have.

The Tricruiser is lighter than the sun but it is clearly not build for
speed. It isn't a good idea to operate it at speeds in excess of 15 MPH. The
Sun bike can be safely operated at higher speeds.

I like the ride of the Tricruiser better, however, and I find Sid (the owner
of Americruiser) much easier to deal with than Sun.

If you are looking for a performance trike then you probably shouldn't buy
either of these two trikes. If you are looking for a moderate use trike,
however, then I think the Tricruiser is worth considering along with the
Sun.

For me with bad knees, both trikes are easy to get into and out of. I had
the chance to test ride Greenspeed, Wizhwheels, and Trice and they were all
excellent and clearly a step up from either the Sun or the Tricruiser. There
were very difficult to get into and out of because of my knee problems,
however.

I agree that the components on the Tricruiser could be better and I will
probably ugrade mine next year.

I'm happy to answer any questions about my experiences with the two trikes.
