Saw a variation on the t.v. the other day, tried it out, and for the first time i actually liked the sweet potato pie.
Basically it was just an ordinary pie but with a 1/2 inch layer of cream cheese on the bottom of the pre baked pie crust, the sweet potato custard over that and on top a thick sprinkling of chopped walnuts and lemon zest.
I think i shall probably do my pumpkin pies for the holidays this way. --- JL
