Hi All,
The Tasmanian Trail is over 460k long, extending from Devonport in the
north to Dover in theSouth.
Plans are underway to extend the trail even further to Cockle Creek in the
south, a possible loop around Mt Roland in the north, connecting with the
soon to be opened DooleyTrail from Ulverstone to Lemonthyne.
Anyone who has ridden the trail knows that it isn't easy, but, it is even
harder trying to make sure the Trail stays open and viable for MTB users.
Most of the limited time available to our co-ordinator is spent trying to
chase funds to continue work on the Trail. This includes replacing markers,
improving campsites and identifying new loops and trails.
This is a resource that shouldn't be lost to cyclists. If you have done the
trail, or intend to do it some time in the future then I urge you to write
to Tasmania's politicians to ensure that funding is maintained.
