    Hi all, I need to upgrade my chain and cassettes on an older winter bike. However, I can not seem to find an 8sp chain (CN-7400). Browsing excelsports.com website, they sell model CN-7701 indicating that it is for 8 and 9 speed. On the Shimano website, it is indicated as being a 9 speed chain. Will the narrower CN-7701 work on a D.A. 8 speed cassette?

    A 9 speed will work.Why not just buy a Sram 8 speed with the removable link?
