I dont have MP3 player i just have a regular cassette player with sony headphones, i use music from the band Tool for my bikerides, and Rush

here is a song from one of my favorite groups that talk about the old self (shadow):

TOOL
"Forty-Six & 2"

My shadow's
Shedding skin and
I've been picking
Scabs again.
I'm down
Digging through
My old muscles
Looking for a clue.

I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in.
I wanna feel the changes coming down.
I wanna know what I've been hiding in

My shadow.
Change is coming through my shadow.
My shadow's shedding skin
I've been picking
My scabs again.

I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic
And insecure delusions.

I wanna feel the change consume me,
Feel the outside turning in.
I wanna feel the metamorphosis and
Cleansing I've endured within

My shadow
Change is coming.
Now is my time.
Listen to my muscle memory.
Contemplate what I've been clinging to.
Forty-six and two ahead of me.

I choose to live and to
Grow, take and give and to
Move, learn and love and to
Cry, kill and die and to
Be paranoid and to
Lie, hate and fear and to
Do what it takes to move through.

I choose to live and to
Lie, kill and give and to
Die, learn and love and to
Do what it takes to step through.

See my shadow changing,
Stretching up and over me.
Soften this old armor.
Hoping I can clear the way
By stepping through my shadow,
Coming out the other side.
Step into the shadow.
Forty six and two are just ahead of me.

forty six and 2 references the christ consciousness. According to carl Jung, primitive humans have forty two and 2 pairs of chromosomes, and modern humans have forty four and 2. this is apparently what most people on earth are supposed to have. The next step in our evolution would then be forty six and 2, which is the perfect human, free of birth defects and disease and whatnot. The people who follow this theory say our chromosomes are tied to some kind of energy grid surrounding the earth, and that we will evolve to use this new grid.

i tend to listen to tiesto & oakenfold live sets, downloaded by some colleagues; pretty much always wind up going back to them; pretty much ideal for cycling.

trance: underworld "everything everything" live. great album.
good call. anything from underworld works for me. the "everything everything" live dvd is great for indoor workouts. "two months off" from their last album gets the legs cranking as well.

Yes !!!!!!!!!! :)
I just picked that 2CD up about 2 weeks ago !!!! Good stuff.

Also, anything Paul Van Dyk , especially his Politics of Dancing 1 + 2 , both are 2CD's ........ very high quality, I believe he is still considered the #1 Worldwide DJ ;)

Paul Okenfold(Okie) .... is good, he has remixed/DJ'd for U2 in past years ($hit, even U2 ..... Joshua Tree, Zooropa, Achtaug Baby, etc.) ;)

I'm still a big fan of some old-school DJ's, Joey Beltram , Utah Saints, Moby (esp. his album Play , Move, 18 , etc. ) :)

The list goes on.. and on... but to me those are the top performers

Tiesto - Parade of Athletes

Tiesto was the DJ at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He was restricted to play only songs that he produced and that didn't have vocals. Its a really great and powerful set. I would highly recommend it for all Tiesto fans.

On another note (no pun intended):
Punk Rock is great fun, look into The Living End.

Metalhead? Try Lostprophets (both albums, "The Fake Sound of Progress" & "Start Something", are sure to get you pumped)

And don't forget Nine Inch Nails (Industrial rock, aka rock with an electronic flavor), "With Teeth" is simply amazing.

Ohhh , also Van Halen has quite a few songs that are up-beat... good to hammer to ;)

Anything by Ellen Allien and other releases on her BPitch Control label from Berlin. I am also really grooving to Tresor compilation 13, "It's Not Over."
