The measurements you find most often is that of 135mm for mountain-bikes and 130mm for road-bikes. They are based on the bicycle frame measurements and not on the axles measurements.

and they are a lot more expensive then i thought they would be @_@
so i looked up bike stores in the area
i thought didn't have any around but apparently i was wrong
so i got a spare axle off of a bike that got ran over or something
it was almost free so im happy
