WHAT THE **** IS THIS?

I KNOW THAT THE RIGHT WINGERS IN FLANDERS HAND OUT THOSE "VLAMS LEUW" FLAGS, MAYBE THE KLAN THOUGHT
IT WAS A GOOD IDEA.

ITS ONE THING TO BE A GOOFY REGIONALIST LIKE THE CROSS CRUSADE GUYS, ITS ANOTHER TO BE A RACIST.

THANKS SHARON

ps: Don't give me that tired old 'heritage' or 'states rights' ********. There are at least 3
distinct flags of the Confederacy, most of which would be more appropriate and historicaly
accurate than the battle flag. The only reason to fly the battle flag is to advocate hatred.

or ignorance.

hi,

Just to set things straight. The Flemish flags you see ont the picture are the offical flags of the Flemish community. It's very unlikely that they were handed out by far right extremists, as they despise the official flemish flag. It's just a mild form of Flemish patriotism.

We did quite well at the worlds, didn't we ;-)

the Vlaamse Volksbeweging started the flag thing some years ago. But with the Flemish gov
sponsoring more and more races (and requiring silly name changes) there are more flags easily
available now it seems.

Didn't know about that, they would definitely use the 'old' Flemish flag, and not the one in the picture. Anyway, if someone identifies himself more to Flanders than to Belgium, that does not mean he is a racist bigot or anything. I personally feel more Flemish than Belgian and my political points of view are very different from those of the far right (I certainly wouldn't be married to a black African woman otherwise ;-))

My point was that many people outside of Flanders too often think that everything that is Flemish is right wing, exstremist, neo nazi or something similar, although the overwhelming majority of people over here are fairly moderate (and would probably be considered left wing to American standards)

Get over it folks. The South lost, and that Confederate battle flag represents nothing more than
hate and succession from the USA. I mean come on, in Richmond there have been ardent protests lately
because someone wants to put in a monument to Abe Lincoln, and the Sons of the Confederacy don't
want it. I highly doubt any of those guys were in the war of oppression that was waged by Lincoln
(as they called it in Richmond). GET OVER IT! YOU LOST!

To connect some things

In Flanders one can see hairy unwashed motorbiker white trash with a Confederate one knitted on the
back of their undersized jeans vest. even "the south will rise again" seems a distinguished plus on
those outfits. There used to be more of them when I was a kid it seems.

Did those people watch too much television , distorting their notion of rebelliousness, or what
should I think of that?

Cheers, Bart

So, are we to assume that it's OK for you to make gross generalizations about Southerners and the
reason they fly the Confederate Battle Flag? Do you know the person that was flying that flag and
his reasons? Do you know if he belongs to the KKK or are you just assuming?

Your generalizations are no less hateful than the racism we all condemn.

The one other excuse for flying that flag is ignorance.

So what you're saying is, the guy might not be a racist. He might just be a good ole boy who acts in
a fashion that makes it look like he's a racist. Okay, I can buy that.

I don't know what Europeans would want to fly the Confederate battle flag but I can tell you that it
means nothing here but an area of the United States despite the hate mongering of the Liberal left
or in this case Sharing Peters.

I spent four years in the service and in that time I discovered that a white southerner would far
sooner give a hand-up and a good review to a black southerner than a white northerner. After I got
out of the service I discovered the same attitude in the business world. In fact it was far more
pronounced in the business world because of strongly biased legislation passed by the Liberal left.

The view that the Confederate battle flag stands for racism and hatred is a lie perpertated by the
Liberals on the world at large and is not related to reality in the least.

The KKK uses the Confederate battle flag? Whoop-de-doo, the communists, during the cold war, funded
the Peace movement in the USA and the "Peace" flag when they meant anything but peace. You don't
take extremist's views of the world as an indication of the the world at large believes.

So, since they object to the use of the Confederate battle flag, the NAACP are a bunch of lying
liberals who know nothing about racism or hatred?

It is to the NAACP's quite notable advantage to perpetuate the idea that blacks are discriminated
against in an illegal an ongong manner. Nothing could be further from the truth and it has gravely
discouraged blacks in this country.

If that's what the flag means to you, that is your problem, not his.

Wow! Someone is on his high horse tonight!

Yeah, so I'm a liberal who lives in the South now. I'm a damn yankee. I hang out with people who all
grew up in the South, and they ALL despise the confederate battle flag for what it is. A sign of
hatred and slavery and oppression. I don't see the same things you saw while you were in the service
of our country. I see Southerners now who still hate black people. I see black people who still hate
white people. I see it almost everyday where I live, and I live in one of the most liberal towns in
NC. Just look at Trent Lott. Do you think that was a faux pas on his part? Nope, he's racist as
hell. I would **** in my helmet and eat it if I was wrong. But I (and lots of other people around
this country) don't think that I am.

All of your conspiracy views are just that. Conspiracies. Nonsense. Rumblings from someone who
doesn't know any better. Get a grip. The communists didn't start the peace movement, it was the
socialists. Get it straight. And even if the communists did start a peace movement in America. Is
that so bad not wanting to be in war?

The KKK uses the battle flag as one of their symbols. The neo-nazis use a Swastika. So in your
estimation, it's OK to fly a Swatiska as well? Did you vote for Wallace? I wouldn't be surprised.

but you said earlier

implying you believe people in the north are more likely to take race into account when reviewing
someone's performance.

So which one is it Tom? Racisms does not exist is a figment of black's (and other minorities)
imagination or northerners are more racist then southerners?

Steve

Tom, you're so funny that you ought to be on TV. You are so filled with hatred of other people that
you just can't see that it doesn't extend past your own mind. You do know that is a treatable mental
aberation?
