I presume what you're implying is that Lance WAS using drugs which were
better than Ullrich's even though he was beneficiary of the East German
sports machine who did most of the drug research.

I suggest you get your head out of your nether regions and think about that.

Ullrich was faster than Pantani everywhere but on the steepest of climbs
until somehow, magically, Pantani was able to TT with the best.

And by the way, Hendrix sucked big time whereas Clapton is actually a
musician.

Clapton on Hendrix:
"What I found refreshing about [Hendrix] was his intensely self-
critical attitude toward his music. He had this enormous gift and a
fantastic technique, like that of someone who spent all day playing
and practicing, yet he didn't seem that aware of it... [W]hen he did
pick up the guitar, it was very throwaway to him, as if he didn't take
himself too seriously."

Heh, Bret beat me to the best quote on this subject. Hendrix and Clapton were
going for two entirely different things. But I'd say that, had he been interested in
doing it, Hendrix could have done a note perfect version of Clapton's style. Easily,
too. The same can't be said going the other way. Music is a very subjective thing,
hence Kunich's opinion on this is fine for him - many other people would disagree
(including Clapton).

I see you're demonstrating yet again that English is your second language.

Clapton was suckered there. Hendrix was intensely aware
of the impressions he created. The `Aw Shucks' demeanor
was all show. I will listen to Hendrix's blues but am
not interested in his rock and roll.

I don't disagree wrt his popular rock but there's a lot more to him
than that.

Yes, his blues playing. He learned from the best.
Red House, Electric Church Red House.

He wanted to be a rock and roll star, and succeeded.

Clapton's tiny purple fishes and a girl's brown body seemed to have
confused Hendrix and put him in a purple haze. Somehow these must be
Papai theme songs.

Here is your brain on drugs, and the cherry picking of lyrix appears
to show Hendrix is no match of Klapton on the lyrical side:
=================================
Tales Of Brave Ulysses -- Eric Clapton and Martin Sharp

You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever,
But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun.

And the colors of the sea blind your eyes with trembling mermaids,
And you touch the distant beaches with tales of brave Ulysses:
How his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing,
For the sparkling waves are calling you to kiss their white laced
lips.

And you see a girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise,
And her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea.
And when your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body,
Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind.

The tiny purple fishes run laughing through your fingers,
And you want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter.

Her name is Aphrodite and she rides a crimson shell,
And you know you cannot leave her for you touched the distant sands
With tales of brave Ulysses; how his naked ears were tortured
By the sirens sweetly singing.

The tiny purple fishes run lauging through your fingers,
And you want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter.

=================================
Purple Haze -- Jimi Hendrix

Purple Haze all in my brain,
lately things don't seem the same,
actin' funny but I don't know why
'scuse me while I kiss the sky.

Purple Haze all around,
don't know if I'm coming up or down.
Am I happy or in misery?
Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me.

Purple Haze all in my eyes,
don't know if it's day or night,
you've got me blowing, blowing my mind
is it tomorrow or just the end of time?
