These are accurate:

2004 July 14,984 messages

2005 July 9,858 messages

2006 July 7,092 messages

Sixth was big, seven merely boring.

Damnit, you're right, I wrote my conclusion backwards. Oops. I meant:
"9858 total messages through the 26th in *'05*, compared to 7092."
