  1. Wanted to start a new thread on this because the old one got hijacked.

I've found for my weight loss and body strengthening success I have to
    keep it simple:

*low carb, less than 30 grams carbs a day

*green veggies, occasional tomatoes, onion, and add cloves of garlic
    to everything

    *good beef, pork, and eggs

*limited cheese (only very special occasions, maybe small amounts once
    a week)

*very small amounts of mayo/butter on food, rather than glops, and
reduce the sodium, use more herbs, pepper.

*dry red wine, no more than a couple glasses in one night, and NOT
every day (I'm actually experimenting on being able to have one bottle
of wine a week, that's the limit). Lots of water, drink soda water if
I want something bubbly. A few cups of coffee, or green tea, if
desired (caffeine doesn't affect me like some).

*hard sweaty exercise (for at least 45 minutes) at least 5 times a
week, more if up to it.

*eat smallish portions, if still hungry have another portion. Wait
between portions at least 5 minutes. I find that way I can sit back
and decide if I'm full or not before stuffing my face with more food.
I've found my calories then are relative to the amount of exercise
I've gotten, i.e. on a non exercise day they may stay at about 1800
while on a day where I've done and hour and a half of competitive
badminton and a bike ride later in the day they may be closer to 3000.
I eat till satisfied, but not bloated. I Only eat if hungry, but
    don't wait till I'm "starving".

    Hope this helps someone

With this regimen (the last two weeks) I have been losing very
consistently, and it is not difficult to do.

    Tom

I'm not a lot different from you, Tom. I tend to focus more on lettuce,
spinach, and green beans. I do eat a bit more cheese than you, but I like
    cheese! LOL!

I eat a cheese omelet almost every morning, a tuna or salmon salad almost
every day, and then pure meat... maybe a hamburger, or rotisserie chicken,
or pork chops, or... you get the idea... every night. Along with green
    beans or something.

I also take fiber supplements and One A Day Carb smart football caps every
    day, also.

Like you, I'm losing. It's a bit slow right now, but that happens. I'm so
accustomed to this WOE that I don't pay that much attention to what is going
on, now. I figure it will work for me in the long run, like it will for
anyone who finds their best WOE.
