The Thread about Nothing....

Wow. I missed a full on defection. Did things get bad? Seems oright to me. Personally I couldnt give a goats testie if new members cant post. Let's face it who needs more when we've got CluelessGirl, Cwankie and CampyBOB to play with. Hours of fun for the whole family.

This place just seems to keep getting up off the canvas.

I've got Steve's mobile but I dont want to call him 'pleading for the third time to please fix an internet forum for me'. It would be a new low point in my life I think.

actually...selected chapters weren't a bad read....I got the Bruyneel bio as well....that IS ****. doesn't address any of the issues that 'Joe average racing cyclist' might find significant....just goes on & on about what a legend he is...& how Lance would never have won anything without him!....I'm tippin' me & Classo & 50 slabs of VB woulda still had a shot at DSing the odd TDF win with that bunch of druggies at our disposal!:D
classic1 digs out couple of week old post

Hitchy, the old man started reading the Bruyneel book. His mate lent it to him. Dad got through about 2 chapters, decided it was **** and gave it back. He pretty much concurred with your assessment.

And no, she didn't pull a bonechilling (Look down). She will be dressed in a jersey very soon`though. I've got to go pick it up for her.

Very traditional on the name. She's called Elizabeth.

Now i need to go sleep. :D
I f'kn knew it! Okay, I did have a ban on Elizabeths, but I'll let it slide for a minute but I swear now it's back on.

Hey, has anyone watched "A Sunday in Hell"? I acquired it last night and am watching it in dribs and drabs. Farkin' love it. Steak for breakfast and beers down the pub before the race. Yes!

The demotivating commentary clangers are a classic... in that olden days style of voice.

I've owned it for years. De Vlaeminck and Maertens were my heroes when I was a kid. Love Merckx farking around with his position every 5 minutes.

....& while we're reviewing stuff...get hold of a book called 'The Rider' by Tim Krabbe...absolute gold...about a one day race in belgium where the author is a competitor....bloody brilliant read. I read the whole thing in one night (150 odd pages)..couldn't put it down

Oh yeah that reminds me of some movies I've seen. 'Burn After Reading' - fkn pisser. Primarily takes the **** of middled aged, paranoid, self indulgent, utterly selfish, tryhard intellectual seppo dickheads. The final scene in the CIA headquarters is brilliant screenplay. Some real gold. Top marks to the seppos for this level of societal introspection.

Other movies packing some good punch are 'Boy A' and 'The Forbidden Kingdom'. And no neither are pornos. Honest. The cinematography in The Forbidden Kingdom is almost ground breaking. It is that good. Both films feature truly outstanding performances from child actors.

Wow. I deserve a spot on the movie show. Move over you old cnuts!!!

Love Coen Bros movies. That bloke in No Country for Old Men scared the **** out of me and the Big Lebowski is one of my favourite movies ever.

Gold. I knew a few old boxheads that used to tell stories about their fathers bringing home the pay in a wheelbarrow during the days of hyperinflation in Germany.
