The Thread about Nothing....

Yeah Vette. And Eoin. New Zealand is so beautiful. I did lots of work over there for New Zealand Cement once upon a time. Out of Christchurch and Greymouth... had to drive over Arthur's Pass several times - what a breathtaking work commute. Stunning. And out of New Plymouth for a fertilizer company... can't remember the name. It was right under Mount Egmont (what's its proper native name these days?). Even stayed on the mountain one time above the snow line - another awsome work stay.

Love your new rocket Vette.
The drive over Arthur’s Pass is very speccy, and the West Coast is magnificent. My Dad spent years working for Portland Cement, which included frequent visits to the facilities throughout NZ.

My Egmont = Mt Taranaki. I’m guessing you were at the Urea plant at Kapuni? I used to do seismic drilling and forestry (planting, which is a shite job) in Taranaki. It always seemed to be in Winter, living in abandoned milk factories and arm huts.

The top of NZ (Cape Reinga)...

That's the one. It always amazed me that you could simply pump air into the plant and urea would come out the other end.

Yeah, it's a rather wintery place. A clear view of Mt Taranaki wasn't common. The locals said if it wasn't raining, it was about to rain.
