Season's greetings friends. I hope you survived Christmas Day without too much familial angst. I enjoyed a pleasant day with my Bride's family which went off without a hitch. My Bride assumed the mantle of the pudding-and-brandy-butter-chef from her mum, and I can report her work was a triumph.

Ace pictures Mr. E. As always.

    Watching on Netflix these holidays:
    • The Witcher. Hmmmm. Anya Chalotra who plays Yennefer of Vengerberg is a revelation. The rest... "hmm" as the Witcher would grunt.
    • Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Loving it. If you're a Douglas Adam's fan, this production will not disappoint. And if you're not, I think you'll still love it.

    On Youtube

    Anyone got some recommendations?

If you're into podcasts - "Carrier" a 7 part series by QCode is pretty good. If you do decide to listen, you need to keep going at the end past the credits because stuff happens that is pertinent to the next episode.

And Ma, if you haven't encountered it already, you might like my all-time favourite podcast (apart from volumes of true crime stuff), a quaint episode of the Mystery Show called the Belt Buckle (Episode No. 3 of a sadly limited number of 5 episodes) from Gimlet...

Thanks, Paul - That rebar cutter rebuild was choice. A similar one (in hammer tone green) filled my non-school hours back in the 1970’s, when my Dad decided he would build the 8th Wonder of the World - An earthquake-proof house in Wellington. I’ve probably still got the cutter in my shed somewhere.
To my Dad’s credit, the house is still standing... but so are all of the other (normal) houses in the Wellington region.

Just to trump Dirty, I'd bought this on vinyl when I was no longer a virgin, and about to stop being a godbotherer. I wore that MF out.

Omg the sun's just come up.
On what, Twatwa? It sounds like the year of feminist holy war. It's ok I'm prepared. Although the wise man would likely dig a deeper hole.

That’s enough celebration. I’m sticking with last years picks. I like your pick of the Greek this year Ma. I saw a recent picture of the old prick. I thought it was an ad for weekend at bernies or night of the living dead.
