Really not a fan of the Marvel movies, with the exception of Thor Ragnarok but only because it was directed by Taika Waititi.

Truly awful. But they get the superstars on board... probably because it makes them fabulously rich.

I liked the Carrier one you recommended.

    Are you following the Dakar?

Yes I am following Dakar - Stage 7 was a bit shit. Hoping our boy Toby can bring it home.

Another podcast which sounds interesting - caught a few snippets on ABC of a true crime one called Snowball, just enough to pique my interest. I have downloaded it but not yet started listening to it.

Nice one. Those roads must be total shit in the wet. Love the soundtrack.

I'll see if I can cobble together some of the shots/vids I took when I went to the Grampians just before Christmas Eve.

The day we rode up from Melbourne it was 46 degrees. Like riding into a giant hairdryer.

    Happy new year all again.
Isn't it interesting when you invite someone home and cook them dinner, and have a generally nice time
but send them to bed, alone
so you can watch the best movie in the world
    again
    on your own.

Hey Ma, Toby did pretty well to finish on the podium given his puncture.

Yes, that and being first on the scene at Paolo Goncalves' fatal accident. That's 5 podiums out of 6 starts.

You should also check out the Africa Eco Race which finishes in Dakar (yep!). Final stage is tonight. I am following a team led by Lyndon Poskitt which includes an Aussie (Matt Sutherland).

I had two original Cosmic Psychos crashing for the night a couple of times in the last fortnight,
    and we all approve this.

Also, I'm no gambler, but Caleb Ewen seems a safer TdU bet than Richie Porte?

So how do we all feel about western stooge Saudi Arabia patriarchal murdering knobheads suddenly becoming more respectable than slightly more sensible (and secular) Iran these days?

I think Amaury Sports Organisation should change its name to Amoral Sports Organisation. I find it hard to believe Saudi was their best option. A fairly blatant case of "sportswashing" I think.

How dare you insult the holy kingdom, running dog imperialist possessor of a vagina infidel. I’ll have you know, by will of allah, that we no longer allow the women to sleep in the camel stables anymore, unless it is that unclean time that comes around once a month. And we only allow stoning of women for the most heinous of crimes, like when they back chat their husbands.

May your camels get galloping crotch rot. Allah el Akbar

Speaking of camels - one of the guys in the Africa Eco Race hit a camel last night. Nasty gash to his head but otherwise seems to have escaped relatively unscathed. No word on the camel's condition however.

And just to put that last song in context, I'm not sure I'd ever heard it before. I mean I might have, but my ears go rhythm first, so as to lock in the drums and bass so I might be able to get involved, and then melody, maybe I can work with that, but lyrics were always my bad point. Bottom of the list, and I've always had an amazing ability to get them really wrong. I even managed to make Herman's Hermits sound dirty post puberty.
The Fartographer chose that song. Clearly not a #metoo girl, but a rather powerful, sometimes sensible woman. You gotta love that. She'll be in Melburn tomorrow too. Fitzroy by night, and a day job in Bacchus Marsh wherever that is. You locals are encouraged to get in touch and make proper decent new friends, even if they're from NSW and deservedly generally untrusted.
    She's a goodun.
