The Thread about Nothing....

I recently had a small amount of time off the bike and carefully put together what I thought was a good equivalent training plan. It involved heavy weights (with a focus on SLP) a lot of high paced spin sessions and a bit of endurance swimming.

Turned out it was useless lol. I sucked bad when I returned to the bike. Real bad.:D
LOL, then you know exactly where I am....i aim to fast track (excuse the pun) back to where I was with a couple of HUGE roadie weeks....

Since the last 10 weeks have been effectively 0-50 (not a joke)
I thought I might try and suffer through 300-500km/week for a month...

Exactly...I ordered a cheap disc wheel, my mate is buying a zipp...Wait till you see the look on his face once i've painted mine in Hammerite to get the dimples happening...sucka!

In non beer related news (to prove i think about things other than beer) - flying furniture has new 'bent trikes for $1790.
Now i just need to get a decent job and a new house and i can get me that trike i've wanted for ages.
(yes, the 2nd youngest northern TAN'er is actually a card-carrying, socks and sandles wearing, 'bent wanter).

I sometimes get sick of that ride coz I don't get home 'til after 9:30

Who's that chubby Richmond Cyclery guy who always takes my farkin nose off when he comes past? :p Him and his mate always try to shoot off the front for a km or 2.

ah well, good on him. Hope he made made some money, and I also hope the new owners realize that most of the moderators are petty farkin god bothering school teachers, and that they get the **** :p

Has anyone noticed that "fark" is now on the sensored list over on BF?
I wonder who could've possibly been responsible for that?

Wilsch would pwn you boy. :p He's one of the most versatile trackies going around. Lacks a bit of pace on the true track sprinters but can win everything from a Keirin to a big wheelrace final to a miss and out to a 20km scratch race in good company.

yeah, there's definitely not a linear relationship between price increase and performance -- more like hyperbolic.

I think I've said this before, but most of the bling carbon bikes are apparently becoming known in the industry as 'doctors bikes': something that looks great, is comfortable to ride, but most important, feels really light when first picked up in the shop -- all this (often) at the expense of stiffness and durability.

oh, thanks.

What about the Guido-looking dude with the big nose? :p

He used to wear Fitzroy stuff but now wears Richmond stuff.

Because I hardly ever race, I've got no idea who all these bike shop boys are :p

THat'd be Hamish Taylor, another crit/trackie specialist. You should race but, you'd kick **** at Glenvale or sandown..
