Not surprised... you weren't an EMO, were you?

Hey, great find of the Jamiroquai & Anastacia clip.

I never ever got that.

It always struck me that George would be the sort of bloke you’d want to hang out with, and that Clapton would be a boring ***.

Anyway, in his angst he wrote Layla, then he got the girl, then a few years later he wrote Wonderful Tonight because he got bored with her ****, and he stayed mates with Harrison.

I read an interview with Fondriest in an Australian cycling magazine. Fondriest in his early days, even though he was world champion very young, was the sort of rider who was always THERE but didn’t win. He’d **** up or just miss out all the time. He turned pro I think 86 or 87. Took him until 93 before he started winning races all over the place. The interviewer asked why the change. Fondriest said he’d simply learned how to win but couldn’t really articulate it. Even when pressed, he simply said “before I didn’t know how to win, but now I do”.

Besides the fact he’d probably sussed out his epo regime (it can take years for riders to nut out what drugs work for them and in what doses. I know this because dopers told me), it was probably more that he became cold blooded, cool, calculating, didn’t throw his strength away, and made it count when it mattered. Sometimes it was going 50km solo, other times it was waiting waiting waiting then going at the death, but he worked it out. it took a long time for him to work it out. Some riders never do.

Valverde has always known right from the time he turned pro.

It sounds like I may get through Immigration on Tuesday, making 10 days of pre-quarantine quarantine, to be followed by 14 days of genuine quarantine in a Govt facility. There is light at the end of the runway...

Porte was fantastic in yesterday’s Criterium du Dauphine stage.

I’ve done a detailed analysis of tonight’s Dauphine stage to identify hurdles and risks to a Richie Porte overall victory. Rivals, course, climbs, weather, political situation, terrorist threat level etc.

Here is my analysis.

Yes, it’s the Joux Plane descent. Once a Triathlete always a Triathlete.

There is always the potential that he might accidentally drop back to tow Froome back to the main group, but there is little chance of that happening as Froomey will be 20mins down by the time they hit the Colombiere.

Yay!! Good luck for Tuesday. And for the 'real' quarantine.

I nearly thought I had a win today - Got the documentation approved from the Govt, but Immigration turned me back again, as I have to lodge an appeal with their Director to cancel the refusal, and the office is closed.
Oh, well - I can continue guiding planes into their gates, standing at the window, waving table tennis paddles...

Did Jackie Gleason win best supporting actor for his role in Smokey and the Bandit ?

You'll end like that bloke stuck at the airport for ten years
If I rinse and repeat another 364 times, I shall achieve that lofty goal. 10 days today, and no planes have parked in the wrong zones at Gate C13 since I got here - That speaks volumes for my paddle-waving skills and dedication, I believe.
