Years ago before moving 'oop north', I used to be with a group of mainly older gents that belonged to what they called The Thursday club. We would meet on thursday mornings(no surprise there) and go for a good long ride.Often we would stop off at interesting places, and would some weeeks stop at a particular pub where coffee was laid on, all arranged ready , and one of the members would take it in turns to pay!
OK so most of the members were OAPs(one guy was in his 90s!) but it was enjoyable, cheap and i got to see some places in my local area that I never knew existed(including a cafe cum vineyard that would offer free samples of the newest wine)
Been a while since i thought of those days, anyone else know of such a club, or was it just a midlands thing?
Would love to do it again!
