Thread cables through the Rohloff Twister?

Just before I give up and let LBS take over:

Has anyone managed to thread both cables through the Rohloff grip
shift twister that comes with the 500-14 Speedhub?

I can fit (and re-fit) the first cable no problem - into the hole
against gear-2, up and around until it pokes out of the cable stop
(the one that hasn't been removed).

But the second cable (that's supposed to go into the outer cable run
(towards the stem) at gear 13) Starting from above and pushing down
this time - just keeps getting stuck on something after about an
inch.

I even let the missus have a go - we're both totally stumped!

Maybe there's a knack to it, maybe I've got a dodgy shifter??

Many thanks,

Duncan

Yes, no problems from day one. I've probably done it a dozen
times by now.

And anything can be done wrong, I'll find the way... so it's
probably something simple that you're doing wrong.

Can't regurge all the details off the top of my head, but there's
something about moving the control all the way to one position
and then all the way to the other between insertions of cables.
