  1. Currently training for my first marathon. (LA). My sister and I are training together, and feel
    fairly confident.

We are NOT training for speed at all. We currently somewhere between a 10 and 11 minute mile... Our
plan is to increase our long runs to 23 miles, taper, and then run LA.

So... 22 miles, take a week, and then run 23 miles, take two weeks, then run
    LA.

My question is... Can we then cut back, then run Big Sur in April and then cut back and run Rock n
    Roll in June?

We are considerring the marathons as long runs... not races.

How crazy is this to even think about? Registration is right around the corner for these guys, and
we just want to have a look.

Are our eyes bigger then our leg muscles? Thanks Steve

  2. If you fill strong go for it..Go to Runners World for more info on Marathon Training..If I were you
I would go easy, medium every other day till the next race..But the most important is making sure
you still get your long runs in....(critical!!) ...Remember take it easy and listen to your
    body....If you fill exhausted take off a day.....Blake (kernersville-running-club.org)

    ___

ya see what that nutty Brit and his 7 marathons in 7 days has started....neophytes to marathons are
now configuring their own wacky plans.

You crazy kids.....ya might as well apply for your "Bronze Membership" with these nuts...

Good Luck..you are going to need it!

    Andrew....

  4. I ran my first two marathons this fall less than a month apart from one another and only logged 400
miles for the whole summer and didn't run more than 5 times in the month and a half before my first
marathon and ran only 3 miles between my first and second marathon. I would go for it. Especially if
your not concentrating on speed but rather just to finish. You know what your body is capable
of...you just have to decide your goal is to finish and then go for it!
