Well ya'll, it's been hot as hell the past few weeks up here. I saw the devil ducking for the shade this afternoon!
Anyway, I'm wondering of late if mountain biking isn't gaining momentum again. I swear our local trail is getting bad as the freeway ride home these days. Was getting used to bombing the loop only passing the odd rider.
To my surprise, I'm seeing a lot less freeride/dh types than last season which suits me just fine. The trail was shredded last year by the time November came around. I heard from the LBS that some kid got twisted an a poorly made ladder and had to use his little cell phone to call mommy. The local fuzz/city council member got wind of it and had the parks people tear them down. Fine by me, they looked ugly and broke the flow of the trail. Was getting tired of running into these dudes riding the wrong way cranking up for a jump.
Now the trail is bone dry and getting pounded by the sheer number of riders. On a good note IMBA has done some cool work over the past year and it shows.
