Studies have shown that the hormone ghrelin, appetite-related tends to fall on women who eat breakfast larger and more abundant, unlike those who eat a little breakfast. So, starting tomorrow, breakfast well without remorse. That yes, remember that breakfast protein is the best thing we can do to our body and its weight.

A SWEET SNACK. It sounds too beautiful to be real and is it! Studies have shown that women who eat a small snack sweet after breakfast (example: Dona), have fewer cravings for the rest of the day, reflecting on weight loss.

Great tips! We could all use a little advice when it comes to losing weight! Thanks for the post!

Losing weight without actually dieting isn't rocket science. Using more calories than what you eat, a balanced variety of foods, eating small but regularly and exercise are the key things when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off.

With these fad diets, as soon as you stop, you pile the weight all back on again, so they might work in the short term but are just a scam in the end.

Dieting is a misunderstood word. A diet is everything that we eat and the best way to loose some weight is to track the calories. Intake and how you burn in one day is crucial in the process of loosing weight. You will need to increase calories intake by 500 a day at least in comparison to your burning number of calories. In other words you need tu burn more than you intake everyday.

The water with ice thing. I've debated that one myself. It takes a lot of energy for your to warm the water up is what I've heard so you burn more calories. However I am rethinking that one. If your digestive is slow and your colon is clogged up, ice cold water is not going to do it. Hot fluids will do more good in that department. Ice cold will keep it where it is. So, the pipes or the metabolism burning.

Some pretty nice tips, although I never heard of the water and ice thing before.

Related to water though is one tip I use a lot, and that is when you get hungry between meals to drink some water until you feel full. It's what I've been doing for a while.

But then the same health and diet specialists that say you have to drink a certain amount of water a day, are now saying that people can drink too much water and the figures claimed in the beginning might not be accurate.

It seems like we're the diet is concerned, whatsoever good and bad for you constantly changes on a daily basis and it's hard to keep up with it all sometimes.

I'm talking of using water in place of when you want a snack. It fills you up with also minimal calories taken in. The whole drink so much amount of water thing I'm not all that sure about but I do drink a bit of water a day and I think it's a case of all things in moderation.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I was aware if what you meant and I agree, water when your hungry does sometimes fill you up.

I was just saying though, if scientists say you should only drink a certain amount of water a day, then I'd try to incorporate that into my daily diet and routine, not drink my set amount of water, and THEN fill up on more water aswell...if that makes sense?

Thank you! Your tips are very decent. Exercising has always been a key to me. And now I know some other ways to keep myself in shape. Sure, it will help me in a long run. In a long ride, I'd say :)

Ahh I understand, I misread there :)

If you did have your daily set amount of water and then drank more when you feel hungry then would it really matter in the bigger picture? Water, as far as I know, doesn't add a lot of calories at all.

Bull ****...If you have a fast metabolism and "skinny genetics" you can get by with a bad diet without gaining weight if you exercise frequently. You won't be as healthy, but you won't gain tons of weight. If your metabolism is slower and you want to lose, you have to eat right and exercise and possibly not lose a significant amount. I think most people know what they have to do to stay health, but don't care that much.

Eat a diet correctly balanced for your health needs and exercise. Do these things and all the tips listed by the OP can go out the window. It isn't complicated.

While water obviously doesn't contain any calories, I'm sure recently there was some scientific evidence come out that said you can drink too much water in a day?

Overhydration they call it and I think it as something to do with the kidneys not being able to work hard enough to get rid of the excess fluid, but don't quote me on that, I could be wrong!

I must admit I have never heard of that. I'll do a little research and see what sort of stuff I can come up with.

Thanks for the tips :)

Great tips! I am confused about the water and ice thing though. I have always been told by the dietician to drink lukewarm water as it speeds up metabolism.
Another good way to cut some calories is to drink lime water with honey early morning as soon as you wake up.

Actually neither claim holds water (pardon the pun). Just drink enough water for your needs at whatever temp you prefer.

I think there are a lot of old wives tales and myths that get passed around when it comes to losing weight, just like anything else.

While some tips that get suggested clearly aren't going to work for everyone, I think unless you try them then you'll never know if they work for you or not.
