Someone borrowed my GPS today, so I was obliged to do a
walk where *I could not possibly get lost*. Fine, train to
Marlow and then walk back to Caversham along the Thames
path, 30-odd km.
Well, I did manage to get lost, but by then I'd stopped
caring. All of the little cafés and things were open today,
so what started off as a ramble rapidly degenerated into a
serial orgy, with yours truly overdosing on tea, coffee,
cream cakes, ice cream, beer, Mars bars and Lord alone knows
what else. In the end I made it to the station at Shiplake
and called it a day.
Moral: don't ever, ever, loan anyone your GPS <g>. This
should be added to the three golden rules of S.J.
Perelman, IMHO.
Regards, Nick.
