too cool "frame lock"

  1. Just saw something at the Serotta dealer that's new. Well... it's new to
    ME and I thought it was just hellacool.

    Serotta has this new option called a "frame lock"-- [I think that's the
    name] a threaded piece welded into in the top and bottom tubes. You can
    essentially pull the bike apart into halves, and it fits in a special
    travel case about 1/2 the size of traditional bike case.

    They told me it has to go on a new frame when ordered (figures) but what
    a great idea for shipping... no more size squabbles or oversize charges.
    Supposedly it doesn't affect the handling, etc.

  4. Damnation that's IT... the same thing... guess that's where Serotta gets
    the hardware. OR maybe the bike shop is doing it [I didn't see anything
    about it on the Serotta site].
