I saw the race live on TV and Armstrrong has sent a message to Ullrich, whom I believe is flagging!

Armstrong has placed his team in a position that will be hard to keep but they are professionals who know their stuff tactically and they will be hard to beat.

I feel sorry for Ullrich who will want to beat Armstrong at least once before Lance retires. Unlikely :)

Jan's face plant into his team car window just 24 hours prior to a time trial effort really makes for horrible luck. Very unfortunate.

I think he is hurt bad.

We'll see how he reacts to his trauma care medicine.

    Tough.

Now you are not suggesting that he did it deliberately in order to justify a bit of medical attention are you?

Tom Boonan won this stage. Five Australians in first 10. Jan Ullrich made up a couple of places.

Stuart O'grady third. I was hoping he would be first. Oh well, can't have everything

An AIS alum on the podium?

After last summer's AIS DEl Monte dorm room injection scandal, and last week attempted strangulation of the 2004 Coach of the Year by another an AIS Alum, the other AIS alumni such as Brad McGee, Robbie McEwen and Stuart O'Grady ought to count their bloody blessings.

The Assie's nearly imploded their Athens Olympic Games due to illegal horse hormones (EquiGen) and TestiComp injectible products.

No AIS rider failed a drug test using these products. Neither has Lance.

Can you imagine a 20 year reunion of AIS athletes?

Petria Thomas can lecture at the post-training depression clinic.

Look for lots of action from McEwen, McGee & O'Grady and Rogers too.

No. Face plants require additional meds, beyond the routine care.

Forget about Jan, it will be Vino this year.

Basso may push Lance up a few cols as well.

But neither have the TT abilities to jeopardize the Lance monopoly.

Another dull Tour in the works I'm afraid.

I fear you are right Catabolic. It looks like Lance's years again.

    Bloody good luck to him.

After this is over an arguement will start about who's better, Lance or Eddy!

    You watch hehehehe!

I think Baden Cooke or O'Grady may well do OK today. There are only minor climbs.

Armstrong is keeping "control" for want of a more appropriate word, over the peloton, or so it appears. I bet Armstrong comes back for one more try!

This race is getting more interesting. It's not the "Lance show " today! :)

Australian Bradley McGee has long been one of professional cycling's top stars. A noted time trial specialist, the leader of the Francaise des Jeux team is focusing on the overall classification in this year's Tour for the first time in his career. Follow his progress throughout the Tour courtesy of Bicycling.com.

Don´t forget about a new cycler: Alejandro Valverde. This is his first TOUR and he will probably get one or two stages and might even get a good final position. But next year he should be taken into account as a posible final winner.
