SuperMario beats Boonen to win the stage at the Tour of Qatar! Sure, it is not a classic or a Giro stage, but beating Boonen, given his recent form, does show that Mario has done his homework this winter and is serious about causing trouble this year!

Whether you are a fan or not, this makes the year's sprints more exciting, Alejet will have to work that bit harder to beat everyone again this year! :D

I can see Boonen having an amazing Classics season this year

Boonen has been described during this race as being "alarmingly strong."

He's in fine form already.

Cipo's talked about how he wants to do well at Milan San Remo. He was dropped on La Cipressa last year after saying that he would die before doing so.

In any event, not too shabby for a 38 y.o.! And let us see if Ale-Jet has worked on his distance this year, so that he can deliver in the Milano Sanremo!

There are a lot of sprinters looking good at the moment:
Boonen, McEwen, Petacchi, Cipo, Freire, Brown.
I would assume improvements from Zabel and van Heeswijk also.

This could make for some good finishes early on in the Giro!
