Chuck a lovely BOB IBEX PLUS Trailer on the back for carrying loads and theres one comfy way to travel....

Now can someone give me a reason why i shouldnt?
If the tires are suitable for the "pavement" OK.
I would want more "hand" positions to allow my shoulders/back/arms/wrists to change throughout each day's ride.

Some 1.95 moderate tread tires and a good set of barends and you have a comfy tourer. I commute on my mtbs all the time. Once you train up for the slight bit more drag, it is prefferable in my opinon due to the fact your tires are that much more durable.

Touring on dual suspension bikes is for nuts.

Australia is a good argument for touring on a *tourer* (rigid, 700C, drops), not even a MTB w/front suspension. I took a rigid MTB to china, laos and cambodia and even that was overkill for china, if not Laos and cambodia.

Too slow, too heavy & too many parts.

K.I.S.S.

ps: tyre durability? Bwahaha: schwalbe marathons for 700C!
