this time, but, in brief, I went up Red Pike, Scoat Fell, camped at Scoat

onto Haycock, Middle Fell, and back to the valley. You're right about the
wind: riding my bike in Cambridge on Monday morning, the wind (which

If we'd had binoculars we could probably have seen your tent from near
our pitch, Scoat Tarn was visible as an elongated sheet. When we arrived
at the tarn on Sunday we did see a solitary figure climbing the southern
slope of Haycock, the time from our photos would be between 10:30 and 10:55.

I don't time my walks too precisely, but I think this *wasn't* me.
I got to the top of Haycock around 1008 from the Scoat Fell direction, and
then headed down AW's grassy rake from the south top towards Pikehow Moss.
However, you would have seen my tent (which was near three large stones
near the outlet of the Tarn). There were a few other solitary walkers
around, but it was hardly packed.

Once again there's another urw couple in Wasdale, and once again I
miss them! I'll look forward to our paths crossing (literally!) in the
future.
