An easy, if long solitary Munro. Park at the newly surfaced carpark at Mar Lodge.
Amble up the landy track till you hit the rising slope at Auchelie, cutting up this landy
track/atv track till a water stop at the Grouse butts.

Plenty of grouse flying off all along the track till it peters out at 731m. It is not
marked as a track on my FUGAWI software 1;50k but is on the Explorer orange 1;25k.

Then head for the Bealach that is the rising of the Alt Choire Bhearnaist. A bearing here
as the light snow and cloud obscured the coming ridge.

Then head up the steeper, but easy slopes past fresh snow and some old neve in the
hollows. Plenty of Mountain/Arctic Hare to the summit plateau. There was 4 or 5
cairns and no trig pillar. Whiteout all the way back to the bealach then just as we hit
the landy track again, the summit cleared behind us for the sunset. 61/4hrs, slightly less
than the guidebook time. A weird we 'Colnels Bed' back nr the lodge.

Cheese toasty and 'Endless Coffe' at the Spittal Hotel.
