Just back from holiday and with a few hours spare this
morning, I took the 20 minute drive to Glen Lednock Dam.
The path along the Lochside is a bit eroded here and there
but no problem dropping on to the shore when required.
Walked along to the sheep fold then took a North bearing to
the summit. Came out on the ridge in heavy rain and low
cloud and then had some minor difficulty finding the trig
point. Better still 3 to 4 minutes after leaving the trig
point on my descent I found "another" trig point remarkably
similar to the first ! Amazing that you can walk in a
circle and not realise it !. Taking a bearing this time I
headed back South and traversed to come out half way along
the Lock track. Back at the car 3 hours after leaving
having lost some time messing about in the mist. Very wet
the whole morning and I walked with full waterproofs and
over-trousers on for about the first time this year, and
this is the May holiday weekend !
