Far Western Fells 2-day backpack report/photos uploaded from Sunday and Monday.
A circuit in the Far Western fells, hoping to avoid most of the holiday crowds which we did in spades on the Monday. We originally planned a trip in wild mid Wales, but the forecast looked a lot better for Cumbria.
Where was everybody on a glorious day like this bank holiday?. We spent around half an hour on Haycock and half an hour on Pillar with magnificent clear views and all the summits were deserted. We couldn't see anyone even on the adjacent ridges and tops either. In fact we saw more people on Kinniside Common on Sunday.

I climbed White Pike about ten days ago (TR to follow when I get round to it!). There's no path from the forest below the Pike until the ground steepens and gets rocky, but there was no difficulty in ascent. It's a good route to Pillar, IMHO. Mark -- Mark Manning [email hidden]
