Our usual 6:30 am start got us to Tromie Bridge by 8 am and after
parking on the slightly wider bit of road West of the bridge we
started walking at 8:15am. car temp gauge showed -6c ( had been -8
on way up ) and boy did it feel cold. A brisk walk along Glen Tromie
soon warmed us up and little over an hour brought us past the end of
the trees at 766 936. The route in the book continue a further 4k to a
bridge and approaches the hill from the South west. We simply headed
straight up to the bealach from 766 936. Easy going on frozen ground
and gentle slopes soon brought the high ground and another 1.5k south
brought us to the cairn amongst the summit rocks. too cold to hang
about so a quick turn round and headed back along the high ground then
re-traced our steps to the track again. good track for a bike but
easy walking if you have the time. A very pleasant walk on a cold
and frosty morning.
Cheers
