Just wondering what the best length of crank would be for a track bike. I currently ride 165 but was thinking of changing to 170mm. Do you think there would be much noticed? Also wondering what length of crank you would use on a fixed track training bike for the road?

Hi, I use a 165mm track crank and i find it fine, but depending how big/tall you are alters the lenght between 165mm 170mm. If your tall and riding a time trail or pursuit then i would go for a 170mm mainly because it helps you get the power down easier and the spining up.
But for the sprint, you have to be careful because if you raceing on an indoor or steep outdoor track and use 170mm you have to be careful not to hit the pedal on the track. So i would go for a 165mm.
For training on the road on a fix wheel i would put a 170mm mainly because u need to get up the slight up hills easier and it will help with your spinning which is needed for the track.
cheers ;)
