  1. I earlyer posted a question about what you should have
    in your bag.

My new question is -- i mainly swim in lakes during the
summer months. Should i use these aids when i am swimmin in
the lake,or should i leave them at home?

another thing -- the pool that i swim at has those things
also available to use. Should i use theirs, or get my own?

What is bothering you now? Why are you asking these
questions? Are you still worried about what youth will think
about you if you use a kickboard in a lake?

I think you are an idiot, at the lake, i dont worry what
others think, cus well, its an open area.

I usually bike to the lake, so anything i dont need, i dont
bring --- i dont even bring a towel. I was wondering what
benifits i could get by using them at a lake, or would the
waves make most workouts pointless. should i just swim, or
    should i do some training???

i have better things to worry about. if you swim in
openwater, i would like your responce.

    Micheal

I'm an open water swimmer, and I've tried hand paddles which
work ok in small waves but not big ones. Kick boards don't
work at all well in any kind of waves. Mostly I just swim.
But why not just try it all and see what works for you?

When you swim in open water, you swim for distance, so you
don't want to have equipment that forces you to keep
getting in ant out of the lake, because the bottom is
muddy, and it takes too long, and you have to leave things
on the beach for people to steal. So the only pieces of
equipment that might be useful are fins and a pull buoy.
Use the pull buoy if you have sinking legs. Use the fins if
    you want to go fast.
