Hey guys and girls,
I am new to the forum and to road biking in general, but have recently been inspired by a friend of mine. She rode across America (Providence to SanFran) this summer with Bike and Build, and it blew me away. How cool, fun, challenging and interesting. Needlessly to say, I wanna do it!

So I have a year to get prepared for it, and have been looking at bikes on craigslist. I found this (KHS Flite 500 - Road Bike) and was wondering if it was good. Also, the group requires you to get charity money, and when you do they give you a bike, so I do not need a bike to cross the country, just one to train on.

About me, I am tall, about 6'2'' or 6'3'', lanky at about 170 lbs. I am athletic and used to run XC and Track in college so I have some endurance. Anyway, any help would be great, this seems like a great community!
