  1. Next week-end is a 3 day (4 stage) race. While this is one of the biggest events of the year, I am looking at ways of

Keeping my form during the season and even improve my ftp throughout the year.

My goal is to go up one category so the ftp increase would be very usefull 😄

The main thing I have seen in our races is that most of the wins (99%) come from small groupd getting away during the race.

My current state is that I can finish in the first 20 of the race so my aim to is to build my ability to go away with a group and get points by finishing in a good placing.

I'm thinking then that 20min intervals, followed by some shorter higehr intensity would be a good start but my worry is of overdoing things and therefore looking for suggestions on where to place these intervals in the weekly training.

  2. What is your current training week like, including races?

Rest before and after raceday, train the other days. Intervals before endurance.

  3. Hi

I've been following the workouts from Anydy & Hunter's book. I have not been able to follow week's 13 / 14 as I was sick for 10 days and off the bike.

Now that the plan is over and the racing season has started, I would usually take the Monday off, as well as the Thursday if racing on Sat or Friday if racing on Sunday. The day before would be a 1.5 hr easy + 1or 2 hard efforts or sprints.

Still trying to figure out what would be best for me for Tues / Wed.

I defintiely don't want to overdo things as I don't really want to get ot race tired.

There are some evening races later in the year on a Tue / Wed so I may got to either one as opposed to doing intervals and then do an 1.5h Endurance ride the next day....
