I ride a Lemond Buenos Aries and, if i'm lucky can get out for two outdoor rides each week. however, i also own a Life Fitness Recumbent Stationary bike (just like you find in a fitness center) that I use three days per week in the morning before work.

Any suggestions, special considerations or limitations that I should be aware of regarding the biomechanical differences between my recumbent stationary bike and the actual riding experience on my bicycle?

The recumbent will give a good cardio workout, and will certainly help strengthen your legs, but it will not give the same "time in the saddle" nor will it improve your flexibility and comfort on your road bike. So in essence, it is a compromise. If you're interested primarily in fitness, then it is no big deal to keep with your current program. If you are planning on training for performance or longer rides, you may want to pick up an indoor trainer for use with your road bike.
