Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a new road bike in the region of £550 and am going to try the Trek 1.1, Specialized Allez Comp and Giant Defy (not sure which model).

It will be on the Cycle2Work scheme, so I can't take advantage of the January sales.

Any idea which of those three bikes is best??

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

These are three of the best inexpensive road bikes anyone's made in a long time. They're all good and you're just going to have to talk to the dealers, try them on for size, and get the one whose package gives you the best feeling--the dealer, the ride, the looks, etc.

I looked at both the Trek and the Specialized at the time when I bought mine here in the US last year. I ended up buying a GT GTR Series 4 however. These are also available in the UK.....

and Evans Cycles does the Ride2Work scheme also.
They also have some nice Bianchi's but they're probably a little out of the budget range.

Irrespective of what you buy, you should do o.k. with any of these.
